What is Price Wizard?

Price Wizard is a tool that allows you analyze historical price data for polymers. All prices are real and actual prices gathered by the global ChemOrbis team. To watch Price Wizard demo, click here.

Who can use it?

All registered members of ChemOrbis can use the tool free of charge during the trial period. If you are not a registered ChemOrbis member yet you can apply now for free membership.

How can I access Price Wizard?

You can access the tool at http://pricewizard.chemorbis.com/ or through the links available on www.chemorbis.com website. You will be prompted to login to be able to use the tool.

Which products and markets are covered?

Price Wizard currently covers PE, PP, PVC and PS commodity grades for China, Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Turkey, Italy and Egypt markets. To track actual prices on a daily basis (for paid members only) please click below:

Which transaction types are covered?

Price Wizard covers all types of transactions applicable for a particular product and territory i.e. import, bonded warehouse, local, local-domestic, local-imported, local producers and export. How can I start using the tool?

To begin:

• Select the Territory(ies) and Product Group(s) you are interested in. Products available for the selection you made will be displayed in the Product(s) list box.
• Select the Product(s) you are interested in. Transaction Type(s) available for the selection you made will be displayed in the Transaction Type(s) list box.
• Select the Transaction Type(s) you are interested in. Available selections will be displayed in the Your Available Selection(s) list box.
• Move the selections you want to plot on a chart to the Your Chart Selection(s) list box on the right by drag on drop, double clicking or using the arrows.
• Click the �Create Chart� button to see chart.

How can I reset my selections?

Simply click the �Clear Inputs� button to clear all existing selections.

Why do some Product(s) differ between Territories?

Price Wizard follows ChemOrbis Price Index Methodology which determines the products to be covered for each Territory and Product Group. Please refer to relevant ChemOrbis Price Index Methodology to learn more about the products covered for each Territory.

Why do some Transaction Type(s) differ between Territories?

Price Wizard follows ChemOrbis Price Index Methodology which determines the transaction types to be covered for each Territory and Product. Please refer to the relevant ChemOrbis Price Index Methodology to learn more about the products covered for each Territory.

What does �Show Delta/Difference� mean?

If you have two selections in Your Chart Selection(s) list box you can see the difference between your selections as bars on the chart by clicking Show Delta/Difference option. The difference is calculated as first selection less the second selection as per the order they appear in the Your Chart Selection(s) list box. You can move selections within the list box to change their order which will also change the difference calculation.

Why is �Show Delta/Difference� sometimes disabled?

If you have less or more than two selections in Your Chart Selection(s) list box show delta/difference function will become disabled as it only works for two selections.

What does �Click here to customize currency, VAT and custom duties� mean?

Price Wizard allows you decide whether you want import prices to include or exclude duties and local prices to include or exclude VAT. You may also see prices either in USD or EUR. Price Wizard uses the standards described in the relevant Price Index Methodology as default settings. However you can change these setting by clicking the Customize button. Please note this will not change the default settings permanently.

Why am I not able to customize some of the selections?

Some data series do not allow customization since prices would become irrelevant and not comparable to the other available series. For example, VAT (value added tax) cannot be added to import prices since the prices would not be comparable to local prices due to the additional clearing and inland handling charges which are already incorporated into local prices.

How far does the price data available in Price Wizard go back?

The price data available in Price Wizard goes back to Jan 1, 2008.

Why can't I view the charts for 52 weeks and full data?

You may not be eligible to view the charts for all time series i.e. full data, last 52 weeks if your package does not allow you to do so. You may contact us to upgrade your package to view data that is currently not available.
