Combining and blending a leadership responsibility in industry with a powerful technical inheritance and a high production capacity, SASA successfully manages the whole process from design to production and distribution.
SASA began its activities in polyester sector in 1966.
Since its establishment, the company has been one of the pioneer corporations in its field, demonstrating rapid growth thanks to the incessant investments.
In 2000, SASA strenghtened its leading position in the sector by establishing a joint venture with Dupont, the leading global chemical company of the world.
Upon acquisition of Dupont shares by Sabancı Holding in 2004, it became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hacı Ömer Sabancı Holding A.Ş. and had been renamed to ADVANSA. In 2005, the name of the group’s organization in Turkey had been changed to ADVANSA SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş.
In May 2011, H.Ö. Sabancı Holding A.Ş. acquired SASA ‘s majority shares from ADVANSA B.V. Therefore the business title of the company has been changed to “Sasa Polyester Sanayi A.Ş.”
In May 2015, Erdemoğlu Holding acquired all SASA shares of Sabancı Holding, so Erdemoğlu became the main shareholder of SASA with 51% shares. 49% of shares are sold publicly.
Having Dynamit Nobel, ICI and Dupont technologies in its knowhow database, SASA has a robust technical infrastructure thanks to its leading production plants with high capacities, its qualified employees of over 1500 people and its Research and Development Center established in 2002.
SASA’s main production facility is located in Adana and established on a field of 1.000.000 m². Its raw material storage facility is located in İskenderun.
SASA also has its own raw material production plant. The DMT plant, established in 1977 with a capacity of 60.000 tons/year, now has the capacity of 280.000 tons/year thanks to investments made on different dates to meet an increasing demand. A great majority of DMT is used in domestic consumption, as well as a part of it being sold in solid state.
