According to media reports, data from Destatis showed that Germany’s exports rose 1.3% on the month in February after declining for a second consecutive month. The February figure also beat economists’ estimates which called for a gain of 0.5%. On a yearly basis, meanwhile, Germany’s exports gained 4.1%.

The data also showed that the country’s imports climbed 0.4% in February, rising at a slower pace than economists’ forecasts of 0.5%. Accordingly, Germany’s trade surplus rose to a seasonally adjusted €19.7 billion in February from €18.7 billion in the previous month.
