ADNOC signs landmark energy deals with US companies

ADNOC announced a series of strategic agreements with leading US energy companies, setting the stage for up to $60 billion in US investments in UAE energy projects. Key deals include a phased field development plan for the Upper Zakum offshore field with ExxonMobil and INPEX/JODCO and a collaboration with Occidental to expand production capacity at the Shah Gas field.

These moves strengthen UAE-US energy ties and reflect a shared commitment to global energy security and market stability. The deals were unveiled during the UAE-US Business Dialogue held with President Donald Trump.

The Upper Zakum development will integrate cutting-edge technologies, including AI-enabled remote operations and clean energy-powered infrastructure, while utilizing artificial islands to minimize environmental impact.

Similarly, the Shah Gas field—180 km southwest of Abu Dhabi—is set to see capacity expanded from 1.45 to 1.85 billion cubic feet per day, boosting supply for local industries and LNG exports.

Last week, Saudi Aramco also signed 34 preliminary agreements with major US companies, potentially valued at up to $90 billion.
