Austria’s Borealis to receive first US ethane by end-2016

According to a statement from the company, Austria’s Borealis is expected to receive its first US shale-based ethane shipment sourced from the Marcellus and Utica shale formations by Antero Resources by the end of 2016. Transportation of the gas from Marcus Hook in the US to Sweden will be carried out by US-based Navigator Holdings.
Previously, the company announced in July 2015 that four furnaces at its Stenungsund cracker would undergo a €160 million ($175 million) upgrade to process a mix of feedstocks, including ethane.
