BASF Total to increase propylene production at Port Arthur

According to a statement from the company’s website, the US-based BASF Total Petrochemicals LLC, a joint venture between Total Petrochemicals USA and BASF Corporation, is in the process of expanding its propylene production at its petrochemical complex in Port Arthur, Texas.
The company stated that the investment in the expansion project is expected to firm up the ties between BASF and Total Petrochemicals and will support its competitive position in the petrochemicals industry.
The company houses 1 million ton/year steam cracker and a refinery with a production capacity of 225,500 b/d at the complex.
