According to a press release on the company’s website, Belgium’s Solvay posted stronger results for the second quarter of this year. The company’s underlying net profit jumped 38% to €309 million in the three months ending in June from €223 million in 2016 on the back of higher earnings and lower financial charges as well as stronger sales in all business segments.

Solvay’s net sales in the second quarter reached €3 billion, up 11% on a yearly basis and the company’s underlying EBITDA in functional polymers segment reached €82 million, up 57% on the year in the face of robust net pricing and continued automotive demand.

After posting the higher results for the second quarter, the company also expressed stronger expectations for the remainder of 2017.
