According to media reports, Borealis’ net profit rose in the third quarter owing to stronger margins in the company’s polyolefin and olefin business. The company’s net profit increased to €257 million ($280.7 million) in the third quarter from €185 million ($200.8 million) a year earlier. The company’s revenues, however, declined to below €1.9 billion ($2.062 billion) from €2.0 billion ($2.17 billion) in the same period of the previous year.

In the first nine months of the year, meanwhile, Borealis posted a net profit of €746 million ($819.6 million), up 30.6% from a profit of €571 million ($620 million) in the same period of 2014. The company’s sales volumes also increased in the July-September period.
