According to a market source in Europe, Borealis’ PP and PE plants located at Schwechat, Austria will be back to normal operations at the end of April. The company is reported to have two PP plants, a LDPE plant and a swing PE plant at the site. The force majeures on both PP and PE output from the site are reportedly still in place. The same source noted that the PE units have not yet received monomer supplies from OMV.

OMV had declared force majeure from its cracker in mid-March, causing a lack of feedstock for Borealis’ Schwechat plants.

Meanwhile, Borealis reportedly restarted its PP plant in Kallo, Belgium and is rebuilding stocks, although force majeure from this site also remains in place.
