According to media reports, Indonesia’s petrochemical producer Chandra Asri reported a net profit of $107.8 million in Q1 of 2017, up 181% from $38.4 million in the same period of last year. The company’s net revenue also increased by 77% to $632.7 million when compared to $358.2 million from a year earlier.

The rise in the company’s profit was attributed to the lower price of oil and high prices of their end products.

The reports also revealed that Chandra Asri is planning to expand its butadiene production capacity by around 37% to 137,000 tons/year, its PP production capacity by 20.8% to 580,000 tons/year and its PE production capacity by 119% to 736,000 tons/year in five years.
