According to media sources, Unipol technology was selected by Indonesia’s Chandra Asri for their planned PE plant to be built at Cilegon, Banten. The new plant is expected to have a capacity of 400,000 tons/year.

Chandra Asri has reportedly signed an agreement to license Unipol technology for LLDPE, HDPE and metallocene LLDPE. A final investment decision is expected next year, according to the sources.

Indonesia’s PE demand is estimated to be 1.4 million tons/year and the new plant will help supply the shortfall in local supplies.
