Chevron’s construction of new PE lines complete

According to a release on the company’s website, Chevron Phillips Chemical completed the construction of its two PE lines in Old Ocean, Texas. The plant has now entered the commissioning phase and the company expects to finalize the project, which is a part of the company’s $6 billion petrochemical investment in the Gulf Coast, completely by the end of 2017.
Once started up, the two PE lines will have a capacity of 500,000 tons/year each.
Early this month, Dow Chemical also announced the completion of the construction of its new 400,000 tons/year enhanced PE unit in Texas.
