Chinese government has been imposing new coronavirus measures recently as the number of daily COVID-19 cases are increasing on a daily basis in some provinces. Media reports showed that new cases recorded the biggest daily jump in over 5 months, with most of them reported near the capital Beijing.

Four provinces - Langfang city, Hebei, Shijiazhuang, Heilongjiang - are now under lockdown as the nation aims at preventing the spread of the pandemic.

According to a statement from the National Health Commission, a total of 155 new cases were confirmed in Beijing on Wednesday compared with 55 daily infections reported a day earlier.
