China retaliates with 34% tariff on all US imports

China responded to new US tariffs by imposing levies on all American imports, following through on its promise to retaliate after President Donald Trump introduced additional duties, escalating the trade dispute.

Starting April 10, China will impose a 34% tariff on all imports from the US, according to Xinhua News Agency. This move came after Trump unveiled what he termed reciprocal tariffs on global trade partners.

China faces a 34% tariff in the latest round of duties, in addition to the 20% tariffs imposed earlier this year, bringing the total tariffs on Chinese imports to 54%. Following April 2 announcements, China urged the US to immediately cancel its latest tariffs and pledged countermeasures to defend its interests.
