China’s BASF-YPC shuts its LDPE/EVA plant

According to market sources, China’s BASF-YPC, a joint venture between BASF and Sinopec, shut its LDPE/EVA swing plant on April 5 for a planned turnaround. The plant is expected to remain offline for around 50 days. The plant has a production capacity of 400,000 tons/year.

Sources also reported that the company’s steam cracker in Nanjing, China has been shut since April 1 and is expected to be restarted by the end of May. The cracker has a production capacity of 740,000 tons/year.
