China’s CNOOC to start building phase 2 of Huizhou refinery

According to market sources, China’s National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) is planning to start construction of phase 2 of its Huizhou refinery in Guangdong, China in May 2017.

The company’s phase 2 project includes a 10 million tons/year crude distillation unit, 15 secondary refining units as well as a 1 million tons/year ethylene complex which consists of 13 downstream petrochemical units, sources said.

After its completion, Huizhou refinery will have a crude processing capacity of 22 million tons/year as well as an ethylene output capacity of 2 million tons/year.
