China’s Hanbang shuts its new PTA plant

According to market sources, China’s Hanbang Petrochemical which is also known as China Prosperity Jiangyin Petrochemical shut its new PTA plant at Jiangyin last weekend due to technical problems. Hanbang’s new PTA plant has a production capacity of 2.2 million tons/year.
The company had restarted its PTA plant on July 26 following the shutdown for maintenance and electrical works.
Meanwhile, the company is running its other 600,000 tons/year PTA plant at Jiangyin at almost full capacity.
Sources also reported that the expected restart date is unclear and it will be decided based on the progress of the situation.
