China’s Oriental to launch its new PDH plant in H1 2016
In May 2015, Oriental Energy started up a PDH unit at Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province. The 600,000 tons/year PDH unit was the first phase of the Zhangjiagang Yangzijiang Petrochemical project, a joint venture by Oriental Energy with Feixiang Chemical and Huachang Chemical.
Meanwhile, the company is also planning to build an ethane based cracker at Ningbo or Hebei province in the next three years. In order to feed the proposed 1-2 million tons/year cracker, the company reportedly will purchase five very large ethane carriers (VLEC) to supply feedstock to the cracker. The ships are due to be delivered by 2018 or 2019.
