According to market sources, China’s Qingdao Lidong Chemical is planning to shut its aromatics plant in Shangdong province due to a planned maintenance. The maintenance is expected to start in the middle of March and last for 40-45 days, sources said.

The plant has a production capacity of 1 million tons/year of PX and 270,000 tons/year of benzene.

The plant was debottlenecked in 2013 and its PX production capacity was increased by 200,000 tons/year.
