A source close to the company reported that China’s Shanghai Petrochemical shut its two LDPE lines on June 20 due to an unexpected glitch at an extruder. The lines are expected to resume operations in August. However, the restart date may be delayed depending on the magnitude of the damage to the plant.

The two lines, one of which is a LDPE/EVA swing line, are each able to produce 100,000 tons/year.
