China’s Sinopec Yangzi shuts plants for maintenance

According to sources close to the company, China’s Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical shut all its plants on May 22 due to a large-scale maintenance that is expected to last for at least 50 days. It is reported that the company’s last large-scale maintenance was in 2010.
The company’s plants can produce 800,000 tons/year of ethylene, 400,000 tons/year of propylene, 200,000 tons/year of HDPE, 140,000 tons/year of LDPE, 340,000 tons/year of PP, 1.35 million tons/year of PTA, 260,000 tons/year of MEG and 220,000 tons/year of butadiene.
