China’s Zhejiang Satellite to build new ethane cracker

According to market sources, China’s Zhejiang Satellite Petrochemical Co. Ltd. is planning to build an ethylene cracker in Lianyungang, China.
The new cracker, which is estimated to cost around CNY30 billion ($4.5 billion), will reportedly rely on ethane imports from the US.
The company’s 1.1 million ton/year cracker is slated to come online by 2021.
