Czech Unipetrol reduces run rates at Litvinov cracker

According to a press release on the company’s website, the Czech Republic’s Unipetrol shut some of its units at its Litvinov site on Tuesday following an explosion and fire at its partial oxidation (POX) unit.
The company declared force majeure at the unit, which pushed them to reduce the run rates of its 544,000 tons/year steam cracker.
The extent of the damage on the company’s refinery is under investigation, the media reported.
