Czech Unipetrol to start new HDPE plant in 2H 2017

According to market sources, the Czech Republic’s Unipetrol is planning to launch its new HDPE plant located in Litvinov in the second half of 2017. The new plant will have a capacity of 300,000 tons/year. The company’s Litvinov complex houses a 544,000 tons/year steam cracker, two HDPE lines with a combined capacity of 320,000 tons/year, a 275,000 tons /year PP unit, a 95,000 tons /year partial oxidation unit, a 350,000 tons /year ammonia unit and a 200,000 tons/year urea unit.

In 2013, Unipetrol had signed a license agreement with Ineos to use the Switzerland-based company’s production process and technology at their new HDPE plant.
