December ethylene contracts settle in US

According to market sources, December ethylene contracts have been fully settled in the US. The new settlement was agreed with a decrease of 2.75 cents/lb ($61/ton) from November at 25.75 cents/lb ($568/ton), indicating the lowest level seen in 13 years. In 2002, December contracts had been settled at 24.75 cents/lb ($545/ton).
The drop was attributed to weaker spot prices and aggressive sales stemming from tight availability.
