Dow invests in recycling start-up in Netherlands
Dow stated that the investment in Xycle is part of a broad portfolio of technologies to convert plastic waste and other alternative feedstocks into 3 million metric tons/year of circular and renewable solutions.
The plant is expected to be completely operational by Q4 2026, with a planned plastic waste processing capacity of 21,000 tons/year. Dow will secure the pyrolysis oil generated by the plant and use it to produce virgin-quality plastics for food-grade packaging, medical devices, automotive components, and other applications in order to meet increasing demand for circular products.
Xycle’s facilities allow production to be adapted to demand, offering both flexibility and efficiency in operations. The company aims to increase single plant capacity to 100,000 tons/year.
