DuPont to start up new ethane cracking furnace at ethylene plant

According to market sources, Dupont is planning to start up a new ethane cracking furnace at its current ethylene plant in Sabine River Works site, Texas in early 2019 after the completion of its installation in late 2018. However, the exact dates have not been specified yet.

With this installation, the ethylene production capacity of the Sabine River Works plant will increase to 771.000 tons/year from the existing 680,000 tons/year.

Meanwhile, in an announcement made on CB&I’s website, it is also said CB&I was awarded a $40 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for the company’s ethane cracking furnace project.
