EU car registrations rise for 20th consecutive month

According to the European auto manufacturers’ association, ACEA, new passenger car registrations rose for the 20th consecutive month in the European Union in April. On a year over year basis, registrations were up 6.9% to 1,166,482 cars. The ACEA also pointed out that this was the highest volume for the month of April since 2009. Similarly, new registrations were also up for the first four months of this year by 8.2% to 4,695,058 units.

All of the major markets saw positive growth in the month of April compared to last year with Italy at positive rate of 24.2%, Germany at 6.3%, the UK at 5.1%, Spain at 3.2% and France at 2.3%.
