Egypt is not planning to renew its RO-RO (roll on/roll off) agreement with Turkey after it expires in April, 2015, according to media reports. The head of Egypt’s Ministry of Industry and Trade blamed economic reasons for their decision.

The RO-RO agreement was signed in March 2012 and it has been allowing the use of Egyptian seaports for the transport of Turkish foodstuffs, electrical appliances and textile products to the Gulf markets.

The agreement will expire on April 29, 2015.
