Egypt’s EPC, TCI Sanmar reveal H2 January PVC offers
As mentioned in the Weekly Analysis on Wednesday, EPC’s offers rose EGP200/ton ($13/ton) from the first half of January. TCI Sanmar followed suit, with increases of EGP700/ton ($43/ton) over the first half of the month.
EPC’s PVC offers stand at EGP15,600/ton ($967/ton) for PVC k67-68, on ex-Alexandria, cash excluding VAT basis and TCI Sanmar’s prices are at EGP16,300-16,500/ton ($1010-1022/ton) for PVC k67-68, on ex-Port Said, cash excluding VAT basis.
A source close to EPC said, “Supply has tightened as the plant is currently operating at half its capacity ahead of the maintenance shutdown at the chloride unit”. The source also added that they might shut the plant for around a month in February while the exact schedule is likely to be announced by the end of this month.
A source from TCI Sanmar also said fewer US imports and EPC’s reduced operating rates were having a tightening effect on PVC supply.
