In Egypt, one of local PVC producers, EPC, announced its new PVC prices for the second half of March with increases of EGP200 ($11/ton) from its latest offers. The higher prices were led by a firming in the dollar parity, said a source from the company.

EPC’s new PVC offers are reported at EGP18,400/ton ($1039/ton) for PVC k67-68 and at EGP19,200/ton ($1084/ton) for k70, on ex-Alexandria, cash excluding VAT basis. The official exchange rate is used for the US dollar calculations.

A source from the producer said, “The increases stemmed from the firming dollar parity as our costs increased and we had to reflect the increases on our offers. Demand is slowly improving for our cargoes and we are running our plant at full rates.”
