In Egypt, one of local PVC producers, EPC, issued its new PVC prices for the second half of April with decreases of EGP300/ton ($17/ton) from its latest April offers, citing globally weak PVC markets as well as poor demand as the main reasons behind its downward decision.
EPC’s new PVC offers are reported at EGP17,700/ton ($980/ton) for PVC k67-68 and at EGP18,500/ton ($1024/ton) for k70, on ex-Alexandria, cash excluding VAT basis. The official exchange rate is used for the US dollar calculations.
A producer source noted that their plant is running at full rates and they are delivering smoothly to their customers. However, he complained about the slow sales activity amidst tight cash and poor demand for their final products.
