Egypt’s EPC issues mid-month PVC prices for March

In Egypt, one of the local PVC producers, EPC, revealed their mid-March PVC prices with increases of EGP500/ton ($56/ton) when compared with their initial March levels. The producer currently offers k67-68 at EGP7600/ton ($849/ton) and k70 at EGP7750/ton ($866/ton) on an ex-Alexandria, cash excluding VAT basis.

A source from the producer commented, “Considering globally increasing PVC prices due to firming crude oil and ethylene prices as well as the approaching high season, we elected to lift our prices. Fluctuations in the EGP/USD exchange rates are causing buyers to stay away from imports and turn to us to meet their needs. Therefore, we also started to see improved demand. Currently, we have some stocks and can deliver to the market smoothly. Given the globally firming trend, we expect further price increases in the weeks ahead.”
