A source from one of Egypt’s local PP producers, OPC, reported that their propylene supplies have not been affected by the incident at ADNOC on January 12, upon the rumors that the producer will have supply limitations.

“We are providing propylene to our plants from alternative sources; hence, our propylene supplies have not been affected by the incident at ADNOC’s refinery. Our plant is currently operating at full capacity and we will be delivering to our customers until the end of February. Our major maintenance turnaround is scheduled to be in April while no further details about its duration are fixed yet,” said the source.

Meanwhile, the source also reported that the producer revealed their new February homo-PP prices with mostly stable levels from January at EGP20650-21400/ton ($1088-1128/ton) on an ex- Ain Sokhna, cash not including VAT basis.
