Egypt’s SIDPEC announces December PE prices

One of Egypt’s local PE producers, SIDPEC, has announced its new HDPE b/m, film and injection offers for December with decreases of EGP1000/ton ($56/ton). This has been the second month in a row that the source followed a bearish policy.
Accordingly, SIDPEC’s latest offers stand at EGP22,600/ton ($1260/ton) for HDPE blow molding, EGP22,500/ton ($1254/ton) for HDPE film and EGP22,200/ton ($1237/ton) for injection, all on ex-Alexandria, cash in advance basis.
A source from the producer stated that they decided to decrease their offers in line with the bearish global trend, which was mostly driven by softer ethylene monomer costs and previously weaker crude oil prices. "We are smoothly delivering all HDPE grades this month as we have sufficient stocks and our plant is running at full rates," the source added.
