According to media reports, Italy’s Eni is mulling over a possible investment in the bioplastics sector to reduce its exposure to volatile oil and gas markets.
The company reportedly considers acquiring the assets of the Italian producer Mossi Ghisolfi, which filed for bankruptcy protection in the USA and Italy two months prior, as part of its plans to boost its chemicals, retail and refining businesses.
However, the company declined to comment on the possible acquisition at the time of publication.
