European Council endorses UK’s Brexit deal

According to an official press release, the European Council endorsed the agreement on the withdrawal of the UK from the EU on November 25, after 20 months of negotiations.
The council also approved the political declaration on the future of the EU and the UK relations, which accompanies the 599-page withdrawal agreement that has been endorsed by the leaders of the 27 EU countries.
Following the meeting, the European Council President Donald Tusk stated that a difficult process of ratification, as well as further negotiations, are ahead, while the European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker urged the UK parliament to ratify the deal.
The UK Parliament is expected to vote on the agreement on December 12 and a majority of 320 votes is needed to pass the agreement.
