Eurozone construction output falls in Feb

According to data released by Eurostat, construction output in the eurozone fell 1.1% on a seasonally adjusted monthly basis in February following a 2.4% rise in January, which was revised down from an initially reported gain of 3.4%. On a yearly basis, meanwhile, construction output rose 2.5% in February after climbing 4.9% a month earlier, which was also revised down from an initially estimated gain of 6.0%.

Among EU member states, the largest monthly gains in construction output were recorded in Romania, Bulgaria and the UK while the largest decreases were observed in France, Sweden and Slovakia.
