ExxonMobil shuts its Singapore cracker complex

According to market sources, ExxonMobil shut its Singapore Chemical Plant (SCP) on May 1 due to a planned maintenance. The maintenance is expected to last for a few weeks.

The SCP is able to produce 1.9 million tons/year of ethylene, 1.9 million tons/year of PE, 930,000 tons/year of PP and 300,000 tons/year of specialty elastomers. The SCP also has an oxo-alcohol plant, a 530,000 tons/year PX plant, 580,000 tons/year benzene plant and 380,000 tons/year toluene plant.

Sources did not give information on which units will be under maintenance.
