According to market sources, INEOS has declared force majeure on olefins and derivatives output from its facility in Lavera, France due to a fire that occurred in the power station on May 17, which caused a power and utilities supply outage at the site. The fire also affected the steam cracker at the same site.

The cracker, operated by Naphthachimie, which is a joint venture between Ineos and Total has an ethylene production capacity of 740,000 tons/year.

No specific date was set as to the restart of the affected production units.
