Fire occurs at SIDPEC’s ethylene unit, production unaffected

According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum, a fire broke out at SIDPEC’s ethylene unit in Alexandria on June 10 due to a leaking during an annual maintenance period in the July-August period.
A source from SIDPEC informed that the fire is under control now while no casualties were reported and the injured were transferred to nearby hospitals.
The source commented that their production was not affected from the incident and they will resume ethylene production according to the planned schedule after completing the regular maintenance.
