According to media reports, the US has exported its first-ever liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo from Cheniere Energy’s export terminal, Sabina Pass, located in Louisiana. Cheniere’s LNG tanker, Asia Vision, with about 3 billion cubic feet of gas, will go to Brazil’s Petrobras. Cheniere Energy also has another vessel set to transport shale gas from the US over the short term.

Meanwhile, Australia’s $54 billion Gorgon LNG terminal, led by Chevron, is reportedly expected to being operations soon, though it may lead to some oversupply in the midst of weak demand from major LNG consuming countries and lower crude oil prices.
