Market sources reported that the Naphtachimie cracker, jointly owned by INEOS and Total, has declared a force majeure on ethylene output in France. The cracker is able to produce 775,000 tons/year of ethylene.

The force majeure on the cracker’s ethylene supply has reportedly affected some downstream buyers’ production as well.

In France, strikes against new labor legislation have spread to all eight of France’s oil refineries. Recently, Total extended a force majeure on deliveries from all its polymer sites in France due to strike related issues.
