Freight Rate Update

Freight rates from China and Southeast Asia to the Turkish market were revised for the first half of December, according to MTS Izmir. The new rates will be in effect from December 1 to December 15, 2018.

When compared to the previous rates, freight rates for shipments from China were up $100/container for 20’ containers while they decreased $300/container for 40’ containers. Freight rates from Southeast Asia were up by $10/container for 20’ containers whereas they declined $200-300/container for 40’ containers.

Rates from Northwest and Southern Europe to Turkey were stable. Rates for shipments to Turkey from the Middle East and the USA were also unchanged.

The following freight rates per container are effective as of December 1, 2018 and contain all applicable costs such as bunker adjustment fees (baf) and currency adjustment fees (caf):

The abovementioned freight rates are valid until December 15, 2018. Price ranges for geographical regions are due to freight variations depending on the port.

Although rates of EBS (Emergency Bunker Surcharge) differ in accordance with company, they stand at around $50-65/container for 20’ foot container and $100-130/container for 40’ container.
