According to data compiled by Germany’s statistical office, Destatis, the country’s economy grew at a slightly faster pace in the second quarter of this year. Germany’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 0.4% in the second three months after expanding 0.3% in the first quarter of 2015. Economists’ initial estimates called for a 0.5% rate of growth in a survey conducted by Bloomberg.

Destatis reportedly stated that the German economy’s growth has been continuously positive. The statistical office attributed growth in the second quarter to the balance between exports and imports where exports expanded more than imports in the second quarter partly stemming from a weaker euro.
