According to media reports, Germany’s central bank, the Bundesbank, predicts that the economy will keep growing in the first half of this year after expanding 0.7% in the last quarter of 2014, which boosted the country’s growth rate to 1.6% for the full year of 2014.

The central bank cited stronger retail sales, rising business investment, wage increases and falling energy prices as the main factors supporting their expectations. In January, the country’s retail sales increased 2.9% on calendar and seasonally-adjusted terms while economists’ initial estimates called for 0.3% decline in a survey by the Wall Street Journal.
