According to media reports, German factory orders posted a slight increase in September. The country’s factory orders increased 0.8% on a monthly basis in September when compared to a decrease of 4.2% posted in August. Initial estimates called for an increase of 2.3% in a survey conducted by Bloomberg.

Economists stated that economic growth in Germany is expected to stagnate in the second half of this year. The European Commission expects the German economy to grow by 1.1% in 2015, down from the previous expectation of 2% growth from May forecasts, and that it will grow by 1.8% in 2016.
