Germany’s BASF plans petchem investments in Iran

According to media reports, Germany’s BASF is planning to invest around $4 billion in Iran’s petrochemical sector. The company wants to build new petrochemical plants near Iran’s petrochemical and gas industry hub in Assaluyeh, Bushehr Province.

In April, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Iran’s National Iranian Oil Company while the company also reopened its office in Iran to accelerate and facilitate mutual investment and Iran’s petrochemical exports to Europe and Germany.
