According to market sources, Germany’s Vestolit lifted a force majeure on PVC and caustic soda output at its Marl plant in Germany following the removal of ethylene supply constraints stemming from BP Refining and Petrochemicals’ (BPRP) force majeure on ethylene and propylene output from its olefins 3 cracker in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. BPRP’s Gelsenkirchen facility houses two crackers with a combined capacity of 1.05 million tons/year.

Vestolit’s plant is able to produce 286,000 tons/year of caustic soda and 213,000 tons/year of S-PVC, according to data from the company’s official website.
