According to the data released by Destatis, Germany’s factory orders continued to rise in March, albeit at a slower pace.

The country’s factory orders increased by 1% on a monthly basis following a revised rise of 3.5% in the previous month. This was the second month in a row that the country’s factory orders increased. Factory orders also climbed slower year-on-year by 2.4% following a rise of 4.7% in February.

The slowdown in the increase in factory orders in March was mainly driven by a decrease of 3.8% in domestic orders although foreign demand grew by 4.8%.

The data also showed respective increases of 3.7% and 5.5% in orders for capital goods and consumer goods while the orders for intermediate goods fell by 3.7% in March.
